The Smile

Ed's so called life

I don't want to sound like a tree hugging hippy but here's todays little story…

I awoke not in the greatest mood having had trouble sleeping. Just before I got into work, I walked past this girl walking in the other direction who for no reason that I can gather gave me this amazing smile. I don't know her, and I feel a little like I'm writing a description for the next impulse advert but it really made me happy. On my way in I held the door open for a couple of people and was rewarded with a similarly friendly response. As I walked into the office I walked in and made a point at smiling and saying hello to everyone and I mean EVERYONE. I had to walk the wrong way around to do it - but it really has made my day so much better - I feel like everyone is great and I realise that actually the power of who controls how my day is nothing to do with what actually happens. It's all about MY mood and how I feel, and right now I feel great.

I don't know what I'm trying to say here, but thank you to the girl with the smile - and i now realise that what I'm saying I suppose is the point is I don't need to meet her ever again. I can just walk into work smiling because I choose to.

Ever heard of a rhytidectomy clinic before? Well I hadn't until recently. It's

basically where you go to have a face lift… And the company I'm working for has just got us a heafty discount for any employee who wants to have one done! Dakota says her boyfriend William has said he'll chip in some money as well to make it even cheeper. If you've ever met her or seen a photo of her, you'd know why!
