Most of us find a great deal of time at work to stare into outer space. Whether we are bored or just a bit burnt out from mental tasks, these long stares can put you in an awkward situation should your boss walk by. On my way to work today I saw a massive pvc banner advertising new office space that has become available in a new development. Now usually I ignore these things completly. We’ve all gotten very used to screening out advertising, no matter now loud the music, how flashing the television advert or how glossy the vinyl pvc banners are. In this case though I noticed it because of something that is under discussion at work at the moment.
The boss is thinking of moving offices. The let of the agreement has come up, and he is seriously considering changing offices for a better deal. Now commercial property in london is expensive, it really is so moving is quite a big decision. (more…)
So we’ve all been told that at this years corporate event we all have to go on the corporate team building day. Now I’m not adverse to doing this. It’s a good excuse to get out of the office, and even when in the past it has been stupid or a little boring, it’s a normal working day so it is a little like being paid to do something less boring than being at work. So I’ve never had a problem with doing them.
This year however the team building activity is going into the forest to climb through and up some trees. Now to begin with this sounds alright. It is something a bit different, it gets us out into the fresh air, it sounds all good. Complaints began with some of the older members of the office.
